Gabriela O'Neil was born and raised in Switzerland and has lived in Truckee for 34 years. She and her husband, Matt, have 4 wonderful children. Now that the children all have left home, Gabi has the opportunity and time to explore her many interests.
Gabi prides herself on being a versatile artist, but her real passion lies in working with glass -
especially fusing art glass. For this, she buys large, very expensive sheets of glass from a
factory, cuts them up, and puts the pieces back together in my her own patterns and style.
She then heats the glass in a very hot kiln and the pieces bond.
She also loves exploring with recycled glass, including window glass, picture frame glass,
shower doors, car windows, bottles, marbles and any other glass she can get her hands on.
Gabi was a member of the “Artisan Market Place” in Truckee and the “Wildflower Village” in
Reno before both of these stores closed.
In her spare time, Gabi enjoys traveling with her husband and family, and spending
time taking advantage of the many outdoor activities that the Tahoe area has to offer.
She is soon to be a grandmother!
Gabi says, "I am so grateful that I was I invited to join Mountain Arts Collective. It’s wonderful to be back with old friends and I’m thrilled to meet many new ones. Our place is extraordinary!
